Kaadedhdhoo is located in the administrative district Southern Huvadhu Atoll or Gaafu Dhaalu. The capital of this region is Thinadhoo. This district is located about 340 kilometres south of the capital Malé. Kaadedhdhoo is the uninhabited island of Domestic Airport, which was opened in 1993.

Huvadhoo Fisheries Complex, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, Hoadehdhoo - A 3000 MT cold storage for Maldivian tuna and infrastructure development is under progress at Huvadhoo Fisheries Complex (HFC) located at Hoadhedhoo in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll. This is planned to be operation by end of 2008
Koodoo Fisheries Complex, Gaafu Alifu Atoll, Koodoo - Koodoo Fisheries Complex started off in 1996 basically as a fish purchasing and exporting location. However recently Mifco (Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited) has undertaken value-addition at KFC by investing in Katusobushi plant at KFC. The products of this plant, processed under Japanese technical and quality supervision has already gained market share in Japan.
Lesser Frigatebird and Great Frigatebird, Gaafu Alifu, Hithadhoo - The uninhabited island of Hithadhoo at edge of Gaafu Alifu is environmentally protected by the Maldivian Law. This island is a natural habitat for Lesser Frigate Bird (hoara) and Great Frigate bird (Maa Hoara). Frigate Birds are large, with iridescent black feathers (Females have a white underbelly), with long wings (male wingspan can reach 2.3 meters) and deeply-forked tails. The males have inflatable red-colored throat pouches called 'gula pouches', which they inflate to attract females during the mating seasons.
