IAS goes regional
Island Aviation Services has today commenced its regional operations with its first flight to Trivandrum, India. The first flight was operated using the Dash8-300 aircraft carrying 50 passengers. The management of Island Aviation informs that initially they will be operating 5 flights a week but will be increasing the flights according to the demand of the customers.
IAS was formed by the government, as 100 percent government entity, when Air Maldives, the previous national airline declared bankruptcy in early 2000.
